My happy place

My happy place is in Saint Augustine, Florida on the inter coastal.  This has always been a place where I could relax and collect my thoughts from a long day. The only thing I would need to have a great day would be something to drink and a fishing rod. I have been going to Saint Augustine since 2001 and can't wait until the next time I go back.

The Spring Hare

       springhare.jpg (20659 bytes)
The Spring Hare has been classified with jerboas (jumping rodents), squirrels and even porcupines. It’s now classified on its own. The Spring Hare resembles both a kangaroo and a hare. It has specialized short limbs with claws for digging as well as flexible ear flaps that can be used to seal off the ear canal to protect against the elements and debris. The Spring Hare's diet mainly consists of grass, roots, potatoes, carrots, and corn. Some fun facts about the Spring Hare are that they can jump a distance greater than 30 feet and that their biggest rivals are domesticated animals. Prior to research I knew very little about the Spring Hare. After some research was done, I found that this was a very interesting animal that has stayed out of the lime light for awhile.
